Funambulist -

a tight-rope walker.

Example: The travelling circus fired the freeloading funambulist.

  3. It's a great word! And, like the others, I was surprised to find out what it meant. So . . . I wonder what you would call someone who makes a practice of having fun . . ?

    1. Try as I might, Elizabeth, the only word that I could uncover that comes close is hedonist. I'm not sure if that really describes a person having good, healthy fun! ^_^ Let me know if you can think of a better one.
