Storyteller's Journey

It's Summertime!

After a busy spring, it feels like summer crept up on me. That being said, after Independence Day, I'll begin drafting book four in The Time Travel Tales of Livvi Biddle. Consequently, I'll be taking my usual summer break from blogging; I'll be back in September just in time to announce the release of A Vigil in Venice - Book 3.

Stay tuned for news on the release of A Vigil in Venice!

I recently returned from my Scandinavian Adventure, where among other things, I did a bit of research for my next book. I've included a few photos in my recent newsletter.

Storyteller's Journey

It's Time for Spring Break!

I'll be taking a hiatus from blogging to catch up on a number of things; those include spending time with my granddaughter, catching up on my TBR list, and working on my next book release. With the weather already warming up, I also plan to spend more time in Nature. (We do have a vacation planned later in the season.) I'll be back on Writ of Whimsy sometime in April.

Season's Greetings!

Once again, I'll be taking a winter break from my blog until sometime in January. We're looking forward to seeing our son Brian. Since he lives on the East Coast, it's always super special when he comes home.

Time for Summer Vacation!

Each summer I take a break from blogging; this will be my last post until September. My son, Kevin, will arrive soon from Colombia, while my youngest son, Brian, will arrive from the East Coast next month. We're looking forward to having the entire family together which happens so rarely! In addition to those visits, my husband and I will take a six-state road trip, including a wedding in Flagstaff, Arizona, later this summer.

Stay tuned for the release of Nimbus Over Normandy!

Spring has Arrived!

As I've mentioned here on Writ of Whimsy before, the arrival of spring in the Pacific Northwest is no small thing; after a long dark winter, longer days and warmer temperatures bring on severe spring fever! Therefore, I'll be taking my normal Spring Break for a few weeks to garden and to just generally enjoy the out of doors.

Season's Greetings!

There's so much for which to be thankful for this holiday season. For me it's all about friends and family. However, I've also experienced the pain of recently losing my mother, Sheila Cardon. (Winter Pond - 12 X 16 oil on panel by Michael Lindstrom)

Therefore, I'll be away from my blog for the next few weeks. I'll be back on Writ of Whimsy in January.

Autumn's Arrival!

As I've mentioned many times on this blog, autumn is my favorite season! While that might seem strange to folks who know I live in the Pacific Northwest with its infamous rains, it's true.

This season with its cold, crisp air and colorful leaves, reminds me of my school days so long ago. It also triggers me to begin writing again in earnest.

Spring Break!

I'll be taking a break to hopefully enjoy the spring sunshine. Gardening, hiking, and reconnecting with my friends are at the top of my list. (We also still need to work on finishing the landscaping around our house.)

Storyteller's Journey

Season's Greetings!

While 2023 has been challenging to say the least, December has brought with it a basketful of blessings. My sons, Kevin (Arizona) and Brian (New Jersey) will both be here in a few days.

That is the best Christmas gift I could ask for. (My eldest son, David, will be here too, but he lives nearby.) I'm in between cycles of chemotherapy, so I'm feeling great - just in time for my birthday this Sunday. And lastly, there is no snow in the forecast (like last year!) to spoil our holiday plans.

I'll be back on Writ of Whimsy in early 2024. My chemo-therapy is due to be complete in mid-February so I'll be sure to check in!

Autumn's Arrival

As much as I enjoy the sunny days of summer, autumn is my favorite season. One of the things I love about fall is that I almost always begin a new project each September.

This year I plan to continue working on Book 2 in The Time Travel Tales of Livvi Biddle. It's too early to share a synopsis but stay tuned!

It's Time for Summer Vacation!

Even though my middle grade novel, The Sibylline Scroll, will release in September, I'll be taking my usual summer break from Writ of Whimsy. (Columbia River Gorge.)

That being said, I'll be busy planning the book's launch, giveaways, and of course, a bit of networking. Then, too, I'm hoping to make some headway with our home's landscaping; we still need to complete that.

Storyteller 's Journey

It's Time for Spring Break!

After the coldest winter I've personally lived through, I'm anxious for the arrival of spring. Then too, gardening is one of my favorite pastimes. Additionally, I'm in the thick of things preparing for the publication of my middle grade novel, LIVVI BIDDLE AND THE SIBYLLINE SCROLL. While it has an autumn release date, there's still so much to do. Consequently, I'll be away from Writ of Whimsy until sometime in April.

The Arrival of Autumn

After a challenging summer for me personally, it feels good to look forward to cozy days hunkered down in my favorite chair - with a good book and a cup of coffee!

Beginning a new project brings back memories of school days; I'll commence drafting Book II of my Livvi Biddle Series very soon.

Signs of Spring

After all of the challenges of Covid-19 - and now the horror of the attack on Ukraine - it's a comfort to see the early signs of spring. I'll be on a blog break for two weeks to do some gardening.

Storyteller's Journey

Season's Greetings!

This year Christmastime will be extraordinary! We are not only spending the holidays in our new home in the woods, but all three of our sons will be with us during Christmas. (One will be traveling from the East Coast, while the other one is flying up from Arizona.) I'm so looking forward to reconnecting with all of them. As I do every December, I'll be taking a winter break from blogging; I'll be back on Writ of Whimsy sometime in January.

Storyteller's Journey

Arrival of Autumn

Each September I'm brought back to #2 pencils, school bus rides, and football games. Even as an adult those events come to mind each fall, though it's been decades since those idyllic days.

As an adult, I enjoy the falling leaves, crisp mornings, and even the rain that is so reliable here in the Pacific Northwest. There seems to be more time to read (and write) during the less hectic autumn months, though I'm just now getting settled into our new home - Fern Hill.

Storyteller's Journey

The Welcome Arrival of Spring

This year the onset of spring seems even more welcome than usual. Maybe it's because we've all endured a dark winter of isolation, and it's exciting to see the colors of spring. Then too, the Covid-19 vaccines are beginning to give us our lives back. (Although I'm still not vaccinated.)

I'm anxious to spend time out in my garden, so I'll be taking a spring break from blogging for a few weeks. Enjoy the sunshine!

Christmas will be different this year for people all around the world. While my husband and I will be spending the holidays home alone, we have much to be thankful for, and to celebrate, in spite of Covid-19.

We hope to have a ZOOM chat with our three sons, who are in NYC, Tucson, & the Pacific Northwest - at least I'll see their handsome faces!
