Jabbernowl -
(Sometimes spelled: Jobbernowl.)

nincompoop, numskull.

Example: The village jester was quite a jabbernowl.

  1. Nincompoop. I remember hearing that word around the playground when I was younger. Not necessarily aimed at me, mind. It was often shorted to nini.

    1. I had never heard of "jabbernowl" either, Sara. I've half-heartedly thought of writing a silly, short story using as many of these whimsical words as I can! Right now, I'm too busy. ^_^
